Hi there! 

 

I'm LeCha. I am the founder and creator of Reaching Exceptional Learners. I started REL in 2015 as a way to create resources for my own classroom. I loved the idea of being able to customize what I needed for my own students. I quickly learned how incredibly passionate I was about creating high quality resources for not only my classroom but others around the world. The idea of impacting more students beyond my four walls was just simply incredible. Since creating REL, I have had the great honor of helping teachers, parents, therapists and students all over the world. 

 

I began teaching in 2012. Prior to that, I worked as a paraprofessional in the classroom I would later teach in. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and adults with exceptional needs. Throughout my time, I have worked closely with parents, speech, OT, PT, other incredible teachers to provide the highly quality education that I could to my students. And let me just tell you, I was blessed with some of the most amazing students around. But aren't they all?

I became pregnant in 2021 and I had my beautiful daughter in 2022. I left the classroom for the new role of being her full time mama. As much as I love teaching, being her mommy is the very best role I have ever had in my life. I am so thankful and grateful for the opportunity to be home with her.

While at home, I have continued to create resources for others while staying connected with parents, therapists and other teachers in the field. I have been able to adapt some of my resources to even create for my own daughter, Lily. Right now she loves the build it file folder activities.

My goal through my business is to continue to reach and create for special education teachers around the world. My goal has also slightly shifted to also providing high quality resources for parents in the home, therapists in a smaller setting and for early intervention settings.
